Vienna, Austria 2012

Vienna is one of those rare cities where beauty is not hard to find. Magnificent mansions, stunning parks, historic building’s - truly a work of art.

Nick and I did a lot of walking. Easily one of the best ways to get a true insight to the majesty of the city. The grandness of some of the buildings and palaces is breathtaking.

Like Italy, the Austrian food is extremely delicious. Two Austrian dishes I sampled were the Apple Strudel (apples in a pastry), and the Sachatorte(Chocolate/apricot sponge cake). The strudel is extremely delicious, although found it a little bland compared to the Sachatorte. The combination of chocolate with a hint of apricot is extremely tasteful and dangerously addictive.

Nick and I attended the Vienna Music Film Festival 2012, featuring a giant a large movie screen playing opera. Featuring a great range of international food like Japanese noodles to French crepes, we really were spoilt for choice. It was a spectacular night, with friendly locals, and a great atmosphere (the crepes were AMAZING).

Our final in Vienna we dined at an Austrian restaurant, Finkh. Small in size, big on flavor. Cosy and vogue; it was the perfect way to end our dining experiences in Austria. Worth noting was the divine Chocolate lava cake (with ice-cream and berries). The centre of the cake oozing warm chocolate syrup, it was pure chocoholic deliciousness.
