Trio - Sydney eats
A weekend in Sydney, of course brunching is required!
Trio is a charming cafe in Bondi Beach. Offering an all day (Mediterranean style) breakfast with stunning ocean views, how could you go wrong?!
After waiting 45 minutes for a table, we were kindly shown to our outside table.
Trio really know how to look after their customers, with affable staff and efficient service.
Our young waitress had outstanding knowledge of the menu, offering decent suggestions while guiding us through the menu. We started out with a couple of juices.
Alkalising greensjuice (cucumber, spinach, kale, celery, apple, lemon, wheatgrass & mint) - $8.50
Invigorating and extremely refreshing - I actually felt HEALTHIER post consumption :)
Having difficulty choosing between the regular Shakshouka or the green version, I was informed they offered a “hidden from the menu” special option, half servings of each. SOLD.
Shakshouka is similar to baked eggs, however there’s greater significance on the sauce allowing the eggs to be poached rather than creating a solid egg surface. Both were flavoursome, especially the regular version, offering a delightful robust texture from the thick tomato ragout. Highly recommended!
Marc ordered the trio breakfast burrito - shredded chorizo chilli, scrambled eggs with cheddar & chilli, pepper & lime salsa, guacamole & warm tortilla, served deconstructed.
Best part about a desconstructed dish is the fact that you can truly customise it to your eating style - devour the elements individually or make your own gourmet burrito. The scrambled eggs were velvety and moist combining flawlessly with the salsa guacamole. Marc really enjoyed it!
A delightful morning, with tasty food and great company. The cafe is always super busy, but given the quality of the food and the professionalism of the staff, it’s well worth the wait. Definitely one of the best brunching cafe’s in Sydney, truly encapsulating the essence of Bondi Beach.
Until next time, happy eats :)
