Paris, France 2012

Greetings from Paris! Home to the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, there are certainly plenty tourist attractions to keep one busy.
I was fortunate enough to be in Paris last year when I did everything from climbing the Eiffel Tower to trying escargot for the first time. Fast forward a year later and I knew exactly what I wanted to do on our two night stopover. CREPES & SHOPPING! Yes, seriously. We were only here for a short while, time for some ME time.

The crepes are without a doubt the best I’ve ever sampled. I had both sweet and savory and they were all sublime. The first night for dinner I had smoked duck with caramelized onion, baked apple and type of cheese (the name eludes me) and it was magnificent. Definitely the most creative galette I’ve tasted. For dessert I had a combination of banana, dark chocolate, almonds, ice cream and whipped cream…..absolutely heavenly!

The next day, after a busy morning of retail therapy, I had a spinach & goats cheese galette for lunch. How something so simple can taste so scrumptious is beyond me! Finishing off later that night with more delicious sweet crepes was the perfect end to a short but enjoyable time in Paris.

The journey continues…..Brussels, Belgium next!
