Bar 9 - 2013
Enter Bar 9 on Glen Osmond Road in Parkside, and prepare for the gastronomical adventure that’s almost impossible to ignore!
Accompanied by fellow food blogger Tash (of Playing House) we arrived around 11.30ish on a Sunday morning. Understandably, the cafe’s busier than ants at a picnic!
The interior has an amazing feel - lofty ceilings with copious amounts of natural light, it’s the personification of serenity.
The Creamy Truffled Mushroom Ragu is utterly orgasmic. Lashings of mushrooms lathered in a heavenly cream sauce topped with flawlessly poached eggs and truffled honey - every bite was blissfully smooth and flavoursome. One of the best breakfast dishes in Adelaide, without a doubt!
Tash’s Speck meets Avocado looked rather fascinating indeed. Generous servings of speck and avocado towered on a bed of kibbled rye, the presentation was impeccable. I didn’t try any, but Tash appeared quite fond of the dish.
Now, Adeladians are definitely aware that Bar 9 offer fantastic coffee, but not being a coffee drinker, I opted for a green tea. Arriving pre-brewed, the flavors were crisp & revitalizing - great to know non-coffee drinkers aren’t forgotten.
Refinement is clearly exemplified when visiting Bar 9, its easy to see why its fast becoming the cream of the crop when it comes to brunching in Adelaide. Bar 9? Phhhft…..Bar 10 or 11 more like it!
